What if you can see the real Mumbai in 48 hours, without melting in traffic or freezing in shock from massive culture shock?

Mumbai isn't called 'Maximum City' for nothing. It can feel like a whirlwind, where in one moment you feel ultra rich and the next moment you feel dirt poor. The crowds, the chaos, and the crazy distances can drive you mad within just an hour. As GenZ would say: no cap (no lie). But it's also my favourite city in the world, because there's an energy that's proven impossible for me to find anywhere else.

With over 31,700 people per square kilometre, one of the densest cities in Asia, it doesn’t take long to feel suffocated and overwhelmed in Mumbai. The streets are packed, traffic never lets up, and even a short walk can leave you drenched in sweat hating every step you take.

Coming from Bengaluru, where you can still find quiet corners and breathable space, my experience is that Mumbai hits very different. The pace is much faster, the traffic is unpredictable, and I feel the energy is much more transactional. Many people struggle every day to build a life in Mumbai. You can feel that. Without the right local to ease you into Mumbai's frenzy, that energy easily turns into stress and exhaustion.

However, when Mumbai makes sense, it’s one of the most electrifying, diverse, and inspiring places you’ll ever dive into. My Mumbai guide is your shortcut to that experience. Because I love this city so much now, that I want to make sure you'll be sorted and feel at home within 24 hours.

So what do you actually get in my Mumbai guide?

After years of making videos on Mumbai, I realised it's kind of a nuisance to either manually takes notes or constantly have to look up "what's that one place she recommended and which video was it again?".

Also to be fully honest: I've always gatekept some of my absolute favourites because I don't want them to get crowded.

But if you trust me (imagine me as your "Mumbai Aladdin asking you to step on the Mumbai magic carpet with me), this is my personal, practical, and local-backed guide to experiencing Mumbai the way people who live here do.

This is what you’ll get:

  • My go-to restaurants, favourite café's & shopping places (no tourist traps)

  • Easy-to-follow best places to stay and neighbourhood breakdowns — where to stay, places to go & how to get the most out of Mumbai

  • Transport hacks to beat traffic and save your sanity

  • Mumbai do's and don'ts to avoid getting embarrassed and frustrated

  • A 34 hour itinerary where you can pick and choose where to go

  • Bonus: My personal favourites that I visit over and over again

Obviously you can look up every 'Mumbai highlights top 10 article' the internet has to offer. But if you want to experience it the way I guide my friends, family, and high-level clients when they land in Mumbai and say: “Where should I go?”, then my Mumbai guide is for you.

Why Me, and Why This Mumbai Guide?

I’m a Dutch expat who’s lived in India for 8 years, including six years in Bengaluru and now almost 2 years in Mumbai. I’ve helped thousands of travellers and professionals navigate these cities through my YouTube, Instagram, and private consults. I’ve worked with the official India tourism board and been featured as a travel expert in Indian and Dutch media.

But more than that — I understand the overwhelm.

I’ve been the foreigner, the newcomer, the woman traveling alone, the one trying to figure out how to make Mumbai feel like home (trust me when I say Mumbai still challenges me lol).

This Mumbai guide is built on experience. And it’s already helped dozens of newcomers skip the “Holy moly Mumbai whooped my booty” phase, and actually enjoy their time here.

F.A.Q

“Isn’t this stuff free online?”

Yes, but not like this. Is it smart to spend 20 hours scrolling online, reading content from tourists instead of locals, when one guide gives you what you need in 20 minutes?

Ask yourself this: Would it be too much to want a shortcut?

“Why trust a guide written by a foreigner?”

Would it be unreasonable to trust someone who’s been exactly where you are; coming to Mumbai for the first time, confused and looking for guidance on where to go? Is it irresponsible and 'indulgent' to get help from someone who’s lived here long enough to build deep local knowledge and friendships?

“Is it worth the price?”

One bad meal, one missed meeting because of traffic, or one disappointing hotel room, and you’ve already spent more than this guide. Do you want to waste time, energy, and have some really bad days (including crying or panic attacks?) figuring things out by yourself?
